Work Life Balance

Traineeships

Our firm has always had a reputation for providing clients with an excellent service. Successful clients tend to be demanding clients and with that comes a lot of hard work. Whilst this is not without its rewards we also recognise the importance of maintaining a balance between work and other activities.

The firm supports a wide range of events run by its social committee and we encourage our trainees to participate in these events and to be actively involved in the committee.

Additionally, our annual calendar includes many firm wide social events ranging from formal dinner dances to summer barbeques.

Working in Aberdeen can really give you the best of both worlds. Studies have shown consistently that Aberdeen is rated as one of the most desirable cities in the UK in which to live and work.* Aberdeen was recently ranked the top area for quality of life in Scotland. The city has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the UK and more than 400 internationally owned companies operate in the City. A global energy hub, due to the continuing buoyancy of the oil and gas market, the area is also strong in life sciences, agriculture, tourism and food and drink.

Aberdeen is a two hour train journey from Edinburgh and just over an hour's flight from London. Commuting distances for those living in the area are rarely more than an hour and usually much less.

The city is surrounded by a superb natural environment of unspoilt coastline and spectacular countryside, including Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms National Park, affording an extensive range of outdoor activities including golf, wind-surfing, skiing, mountain biking and fishing which are easily accessible.
