What Do We Look For?

Your CV and covering letter are the starting points for gaining a traineeship with Paull & Williamsons. These will summarise your academic achievements as well as telling us about you and your interests.
We’d like to know:
- Your qualifications – as well as University grades, we are interested in your exam grades from school and in which school year(s) you sat those exams.
- Achievements – what else, other than your academic work, have you achieved?
- Work history – have you had a job? Did it include responsibility?
- Interests – what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
- Summer placements – have you already had experience working in a law firm?
- Why Paull & Williamsons? – what are your reasons for applying for a traineeship at Paull & Williamsons?
- What skills and attributes you feel you possess which would enhance your chance of being recruited by a commercial law firm.
Our selection process is informal. We are looking to identify individuals who we believe will suit the culture of the firm and work well within the team environment which we value.
If your CV has impressed us then we will ask you to come for interview. The first interview is with our Human Resources Advisor. Thereafter, short-listed candidates are invited to meet with the traineeship committee.
Dates for submission of applications for Traineeships in 2011 will be posted at a later date
When the interview process is completed, a written response will be sent to all those who applied.
