Partners - Brian Hemming
Brian is a partner in our Oil & Gas Division. He has wide-ranging experience in dealing with upstream oil and gas activities, having worked in the industry since 1992. Before joining P&W in February 2010, Brian worked in-house for Elf Exploration (1992-2000), Conoco (2000-2002) and Maersk Oil (formerly Kerr-McGee) (2002-2010), latterly as Director of the Legal, Commercial and Business Relations Department and Company Secretary. Previous roles have included that of Director, Legal, Contracts & Business Relations and that of Commercial Manager.
His experience has included handling joint venture matters, corporate/asset acquisitions and disposals, project development and transportation, processing and product sales agreements. In addition to providing legal advice, Brian has been responsible for managing company contracting strategy and the Business Relations function, which covered press/PR adctiviites and the provision of office services. Brian was also chairman of the UK Operators Legal Committee (September 2007 to April 2009).
