Paull & Williamsons Lawyer Is Appointed Chair Of Energy Group (2 Feb 2009)

A partner at Aberdeen’s leading commercial law firm Paull & Williamsons has been appointed co-chair of the energy speciality group within TAGLaw –one of the largest worldwide networks of law firms.

Robin Clarkson shares the co-chair with a representative from a firm in Norway and one in the United States and met with both recently at the latest TAGLaw conference in New York.  The membership of the group is made up of those who are already TAGLaw members and have a specific interest in the energy sector. Members are based throughout the world including the UK, Norway, Canada, United States and Australia.

Robin said: “We benefit from strengthening existing relationships with other lawyers who specialise in working within the energy industry. Our clients benefit from being able to call upon an extensive network of lawyers via Paull & Williamsons who can, for example, assist with cross-border transactions.”

Robin also has extensive experience within the oil & gas industry and has led and participated in many prominent mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving both operating companies and oilfield service companies. His work involves North Sea and other UK-based transactions, as well as advising clients on overseas transactions including in Dubai, and Romania. Robin is also a Director of the Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce and a member of the UK Energy Lawyers Group (IBA).  He also chairs Paull & Williamsons’ Renewable Energy Group, a cross-disciplinary grouping of lawyers within the firm who are active within the renewable energy sectors. 

Robin is a partner in the firm’s oil and gas division and is recognised by both the Legal 500 Directory and Chambers UK guide to the legal profession for his upstream oil and gas and project work.
